Still torn between installing a gate valve or a ball valve before and after a control valve? In fact, they have similar functions, and there is no absolute superiority or inferiority-choosing the right one is key!
Gate Valve:Suitable for water supply/hot water pipelines; not recommended for steam or sediment-containing pipelines. It can only be fully opened or closed. Advantages include low resistance, low cost, and short size. It is an ideal choice for large-diameter, low-pressure oil, steam, and water pipelines!
Ball Valve:Can cut off and distribute media, and can be opened or closed with a 90¡ãrotation. It offers better fluid control and sealing performance. Suitable for working conditions with high requirements for leakage grade and opening/closing speed.
In practical applications, gate valves are more popular. This is because ball valves are cumbersome to operate, have high requirements for sealing technology (prone to internal leakage if the manufacturer is not selected properly), have high costs for large-diameter models, and are prone to jamming after long-term inactivity.
Choose a gate valve for cost-effectiveness or large-diameter, low-pressure oil, steam, and water pipelines; choose a ball valve for high requirements for sealing, leakage grade, and opening/closing speed.
